PunkMonks & The New Monastic Movement
  With the desire spreading through us like wildfire to be a fueling station for the city's spiritually hungry as well a resource for its churches, this 24-7 is advancing toward a call to become a kind of millennial3 urban monastery helping to apprentice PunkMonks all over the city in practicing the rhythms of prayer, mission, & justice. 

Update: With 24-7Boiler Room leadership's blessing, we've decided to pursue a unique brand of 24-7monastic community which, like the 24-7prayer movement's Boiler Rooms, will include yearly internships practicing the rhythms of prayer, mission, & justice. But because of our commitment to be a resource for the city's existing churches & not simply another church, we won't be planting a traditional 24-7 Boiler Room. Instead, we'll move forward to become a 24-7 monastery, a wildly creative spiritual equipping & fueling station helping people walk dangerously, obsessively, undeniably close to God, & engage the spiritual disciplines He uses to help em grow strong & fulfill their callings in the earth. This is who we are. 
Moving forward on this feels like THIS SCENE from the movie 'What about Bob?'.  But we're ready. Anybody Wanna go sailing with us? Make contact. Baby stepping onto the dock, us.

Rhythm City Prayer. 
A prayer vigil with a wildly urban twist.

Jesus allied himself with the poor & suffering, founding a kingdom tilted in their favor.

  The Justice Project is a yearly comprehensive service initiative, where we invite a diverse collection of churches, organizations, & individuals to help us make a change for good in an inner-city community through selfless service, radical hospitality, & a message of God's love & ability to transform the human heart.
  We work as if it all depends on us,

 & pray as if it all depends on God, until the tide is turned.

More than a stray service projects here & there, volunteers buy into the community's storyline, vest relationally in the lives of its residents, & track the journey with them while serving using the skills at hand.  We landed in Villa Heights in March & have inversed 257 hours of prayer alongside 397man hours of sweat equity, & we still have 3 months tour of duty to go before we head into the next community.  What a transforming, fun, wild ride so far!  Wanna Join?  More Info on the Justice Project HERE

Irresistible Revolution author Shane Claiborne is Coming.

In early January Shane Claiborne will be coming to 24-7 & Area 15 to, among other things, help fuel the Justice Project volunteer troops & to further equip us to bring a goodness revolution to the community we're serving in this & next year. More details coming in the next newsletter.
