SO THIS GUY WALKS UP TO ME & SAYS…
“WHAT IS THE VISION?”
The vision is Jesus…
obsessively, dangerously, undeniably …Jesus.
By Life imparting, soul impacting first hand experience
to know all one can know of God & live to tell of it.
What is the vision?
The vision is holiness
that makes children laugh & grown-ups cry.
Not a holiness that they lift & carry
but One that lifts & carries them.
What is the vision?
……To be a people
who gave up the game of minimum integrity long, long ago.
Scorning the good, yielding & reaching for the best,
knowing they are more than they have become.
Shaking mediocrity from its cozy little hide.
Laying down their rights and their precious little wrongs.
Each would take a bullet for the other.
Tattoos on their backs boasts:
“For me to live is Christ & to die is gain.”
Advertisers can not mold them. Hollywood cannot hold them.
They live in a clone free zone.
Free from ‘more stuff equals happiness’ materialism,
but living like they own the world.
Enjoying & engaging the culture
but not succumbing to the Spirit of the Age.
Over it, above it, wise to its lies.
Staying just out of its reach.
With blood, sweat, many tears, & some sleepless nights
they pray as if it all depends on God
& live as if it all depended on them.
They pray like dying men;
with absolute truthfulness, deep confession,
with a beautiful neediness,
& with groans of the spirit beyond mere talking.
Their words make demons scream out.
Their prayers summon the hounds of heaven,
evoke an ancient dream of Eden ,
& brings “Thy kingdom come”
to who & what they lift up to God in the name of Jesus.

THEIR CREED:
“Some want to live within the sound of a church or chapel bell.
We want to run a rescue shop within a yard of hell.”

Their light flickers from every secret motive & private conversation,
loving people away from their suicide leaps & Satan games.
Their tomorrow is today & their whispered & sometimes rambling prayers
invoke a thunderous resounding bone shaking great “AMEN”
from countless angels, from heroes of the faith,
& from Christ himself, the original dreamer.
They lay down their life for the cause of Christ.
A million times a day choosing to lose
that they might one day win the great
“Well done!” of faithful sons & daughters.
